SMS Privacy Policy
Somo Technologies LLC ("Somo") runs the text-message alert service that municipal government clients, including the City of Fairview, Missouri, use to send alerts to residents who asked for them, and the service texts Somo sends to its own business clients. This policy covers that service.
What we collect
- Your mobile phone number and the message types you choose (for example billing, emergency or public notices from a city, or service updates from Somo)
- An optional account reference, such as a utility account number for city billing reminders or a client or ticket number for Somo service texts
- Proof of consent: date and time, IP address, and the exact sign-up wording you were shown
- Delivery records for messages we send you and any keywords you text back (YES, STOP, HELP)
How it is used
Only to send the messages you requested, on behalf of your city or from Somo to its own clients, confirm your consent, honor opt-outs, and fix delivery problems. The only other parties that handle your number are the phone carriers and the messaging provider needed to deliver a text.
Opting out
Reply STOP to any message and no further texts will be sent to you from that number. Reply HELP for help. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
Retention and security
Consent and opt-out records are kept while the service runs and for four years afterward as proof of consent. Data is stored on Somo-operated servers in the United States, encrypted in transit, with access limited to Somo staff.
