SMS Terms and Conditions
The program
Somo Technologies LLC sends resident text alerts on behalf of municipal government clients, including the City of Fairview, Missouri. Alerts are:
- Water and sewer billing reminders and payment confirmations
- Emergency alerts such as boil water advisories and road closures
- Council meeting and public hearing notices
Somo Technologies also texts its own business clients about the IT services Somo provides to them:
- Service ticket and appointment updates
- Outage and security notices for systems Somo manages for that client
- Invoice and payment reminders
Somo's own texts are sent from (417) 772-3344. City alerts are sent from the number the city uses. The two are kept separate: cancelling one does not affect the other.
No marketing or promotional messages are ever sent.
Signing up
Somo's own clients sign up at sms.somotechs.com/signup?tenant=somo. The same rule applies: one confirmation text, and nothing else until you reply YES.
Residents sign up on their city's official website (Fairview: cityoffairview.org/alerts) and choose which alerts they want. Submitting the form sends one confirmation text. Nothing else is sent until you reply YES from your phone.
Frequency and cost
Message frequency varies: usually a few messages a month, more during an emergency. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Cancelling
Text STOP at any time. You will get one message confirming you are unsubscribed, and no further texts will be sent to you from that number. Text START or use your city's sign-up page to rejoin.
